Horry-Georgetown HBA held its 36th Annual Golf Tournament presented by 84 Lumber on August 13, 2020 at the Legends Golf Resort. There were 236 golfers on 59 teams participating in the tournament and they were able to raise $6,000 for Fostering Hope, a charity that helps provide for children in Foster Care.

Charleston HBA hosted its first Virtual Bus Tour on July 22nd with almost 100 in attendance. It was a huge success with positive feedback, and has become the new norm for their bus tours, which previously took half a day and could only host up to 35 realtors.

Charleston HBA held its annual General Membership Meeting Market Update with Joey von Nessen and Will Jenkinson on August 25, 2020.

The Be Pro Be Proud State Tour held its first stop on Saturday, August 29, 2020 in the Lowcountry with Hilton Head Area HBA.

Building Industry Association Recognizes Influential Women in Construction

In recognition of Professional Women in Building (PWB) Week Sept. 14-18, The Building Industry Association of Central South Carolina (BIA) is recognizing the 2020 Influential Women in Construction of the Midlands. Nominations were received from BIA members and approved by the Board of Directors.

“In recognizing the achievements of these women we want to acknowledge the workforce opportunities for women in construction to help address the ongoing labor shortage that is severely impacting the construction industry” said Thom Chumney, Association President and owner of Southern Traditional Homes.
